Are you ready for Google’s next search algorithm update?

If your website isn’t responsive or optimized for mobile devices, you should be worried. Why? Because as of April 21st, Google will expand the use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal in search results. Websites that are optimized for mobile devices will receive the highest SEO rankings, and the rest will be penalized in rankings which will result in a decline in organic search traffic.

On Wednesday, my colleague Justine and I produced a webinar entitled “Mobile Friendly Emails for any Organization.” In the webinar, we covered the shifting landscape of email including where users are reading email and how it impacts your marketing program. We also discussed tactics on how to get the most out of your email marketing program, and provided a framework for creating responsive emails. Finally, we tackled basic reporting concepts.

In a major step in the evolution of website design, the Boston Globe relaunched their site today using a Responsive Design approach.  For a consistent experience across mobile and desktop browsers, they redesigned the site to add and remove columns to the layout based on the width of your browser window.
